Dame DeAnne Julius DCMG, CBE is a widely experienced international economist with a strong business background and hands-on policy experience. She is a lively and insightful speaker on a range of economic, business and corporate governance topics.
Dame DeAnne is best known as a founding member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England, but has also been Chief Economist at Shell and at British Airways. She has worked in Asia and Africa for the World Bank and has served on the corporate boards of BP, Roche, Jones Lang LaSalle, Deloitte UK, Serco, Lloyds Bank Group and ICE Benchmark Administration.
She is the former chair of University College London (UCL) and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). She is currently Distinguished Fellow in Global Economy and Finance at Chatham House.
